Meet John Brunner

  • Marine Corps Officer

John joined the United States Marine Corps where he served with “America’s finest.” Rigorous training and multiple overseas deployments backed up his oath of office “to support and defend the constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

John served as an Infantry Platoon Commander, a Rifle Company Executive Officer, and as a Battalion Staff Officer. He completed his service as a Captain.

  • Successful Businessperson

John returned home to save the small manufacturing business his grandfather founded in 1908.

Engaging the leadership principles of clarity of mission, individual accountability and hard work, he inspired his small team of associates to become the industry leader; creating thousands of jobs and bringing billions of dollars of business into Missouri. Over 90% of his products are proudly “Made in America”!

  • Values-Driven Leader

John is a life-long conservative, unapologetically pro-life and a strong defender of our 2nd Amendment rights. And there is no expiration date to that commitment!

His Baptist Christian faith is an important aspect of John's personal life. John has made volunteerism a cornerstone of his life — from serving on overseas relief missions and mentoring the physically challenged to improving education and opportunities for abused children.

  • Constitutional Conservative

Since his first campaign in 1964, working his precinct door-to-door for Barry Goldwater, John has been in the fight for conservative candidates. After four decades of supporting conservative causes, John became a candidate for the U.S. Senate. He was honored to be endorsed by many organizations, but especially FreedomWorks, America’s premier conservative political action organization. He continues to fight the good fight as your candidate for Governor of Missouri.

John's Story

Manufacturer. Marine. Missionary. Missourian.

Born and raised in Missouri — the “Show Me” State!

After his service as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps, John engaged in business as an entrepreneur and manufacturer for over three decades. He is also actively committed and personally involved in sharing his Christian faith worldwide through missions and relief organizations.

JohnCompanyPhotoJohn purchased the family manufacturing business in the mid 90’s and grew the consumer products company, expanding sales and distribution to every major retailer in the U.S. In 2006, John led the merger with his major competitor, with the result that the company became the largest personal care private label company in America. His leadership as Chairman and CEO continued until his retirement in 2009.

The next few years were dedicated in continuing to serve conservative causes, and as a candidate for the United States Senate.

At the beginning of 2015 his new “pocket” book, “Battlefield Verses” became available as a message of encouragement to military families.

JohnZimbabweIn addition to his leadership in the military and business, John has served extensively in charitable, community and church activities. His focus has been on helping and mentoring young adults with disabilities, with a special emphasis on leadership development.

WeddingJohn graduated with a BS in Management from Harding University, and completed his graduate education with an MBA at Washington University in Saint Louis. He also studied economics at the Foundation of Economic Education in New York, and marketing and entrepreneurship at the Harvard Business School in Boston.

John has been married to his wife, Jan, for 40 years. Together they have three children and 12 grandchildren.

John Brunner believes that his oath of office as a Marine — “to defend the Constitution, from all enemies, foreign and domestic” — has no expiration date.

Help elect a new kind of leader for Missouri!
